Which gold coins we buy
We buy bullion and old gold coins including Sovereigns, Krugerrands, Britannias, American Eagles and Canadian Maples. Each coin is assayed and weighed, and valued on its gold content against the live LBMA spot price.
For higher-value coin collections we split parcels across separate insured Special Delivery bags so the whole shipment stays covered. If a coin has collectable value beyond its metal, tell us and we'll take that into account.
Which gold coins we buy and how we value them
We buy gold sovereigns and half-sovereigns, Krugerrands, Britannias and most other bullion coins. For bullion coins the value is driven by gold content and the live LBMA price, so a full sovereign is valued on its known gold weight against the live market.
Some coins are worth more than their melt value because they are rare, in exceptional condition or sought after by collectors. If you think a coin may have collectable value, let us know and we will take that into account rather than simply assessing it for its metal. Either way you receive a transparent offer before you accept.

Which coins do you accept?
We accept any gold coins with a gold content of at least 37.5%, including common gold coins such as Sovereigns, Krugerrands, Britannias, American Eagles and Canadian Maples.
How are coins valued?
Bullion coins are valued on their gold content at the LBMA spot price. Where a coin has genuine numismatic value above its metal, let us know and we'll factor that in.
How are higher-value parcels insured?
Each Special Delivery bag is insured to £750, so we ask you to split valuable collections across multiple bags to keep everything covered.
Is there a maximum parcel value?
The maximum parcel size with Royal Mail Special Delivery (guaranteed by 1pm) is 20kg. The maximum insurance coverage provided by Royal Mail is £2500 but you will need to pay for this yourself and we will reimburse you.
